The Third Annual 2008 Old Boys & Old Girls Golf Outing

Old Boys/Old Girls Annual Golf
Outing: "We get better every year!"
Along with a bright sunny sky, a bit of a
breeze and near perfect weather conditions
to go along with a near perfect golf course
at the Shagbark Golf and Country Club in
Onarga, this year's 3rd Annual Old Boys
and Old Girls Golf Outing was a big
success. In a shotgun start, 11 four-person
teams hit the course last Saturday
afternoon.
According to Vicki Neveu, who along with
Julie Borchers spearheads the outing,
$2,299 was generated in this year's event
and the entire amount will be deposited in
the Old Boys and Old Girls account.
"We get better every year," Vicki said, "last
year we returned $1,296 to the Old Boys
account." Speaking about herself and Julie,
she added, "Not bad for a couple of girls
who don't play golf. I always tell people we
may not know how to golf, but we know how
to throw a good party."
Vicki and Julie were assisted by Sandy
Barnes, Barb Leydens, Rona Smith and
Patty Goff.
A special thanks goes out also to all of the
merchants that provided monetary
donations and a huge variety of raffle and
auction prizes. And to Vaughn Borchers for
his auctioneering skills.
Likewise, Duane and Patti Luhrsen and the
staff at Shagbark deserve credit for all of
their hard work and preparation on the
course, in the kitchen and at the beverage
center.
Last, but certainly not least, 'thanks' to all
of the guys and gals that took part in this
year's outing. Because of you folks the Old
Boys and Old Girls Golf Outing does indeed
get better every year. Aj
